The Jesse Tree and Advent

The library is decorated for Advent and Christmas. Stop by and see all the great resources we have for this special time of year. Next week there will be a Jesse Tree in the library. The idea for a Jesse Tree comes from the passage in the Old Testament book of Isaiah that says: "A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a branch will bear fruit." Jesse was the father of King David, and Jesus Christ is a descendant of King David. To find out more about making a Jesse Tree, with symbols illustrating God's faithfulness throughout the generations until Jesus was born, you can go to this great website: http://www.eriercd.org/jessetree.htm
